It breaks the horizon
calling forth a new day

It shines on the land
erasing the past’s rains
Breaking from clouds
     and diminishing greys

Let us toast to the moon—

It shines beyond stars
calling forth a new night
Bringing opportunities
     and dreams for a flight

It gives us a spectacle
for memories we write
Igniting inspiration
     and bright finite twilight
